Early Life and Education
Colton grew up on a farm in Andale, Kansas, but has also lived in Arkansas, New Mexico, Texas, and Florida. He attended Andale High School, Kansas. He has an older brother and two older sisters. His brother, Clinton, is also pursuing an acting career.

Career
Colton’s career began at the age of 15 when he began modeling for Abercrombie & Fitch while living in New York City. After a move to Los Angeles, an acting career started to take shape with appearances in the television series CSI: Miami, Pushing Daisies, Melrose Place , The Hills and Privileged. Long form television ventures include the Hallmark film Forever and Always and uncredited appearance as a young man in a cafe in the 2007 blockbuster Transformers.

In addition to guest roles, Haynes also acted in My Chemical Romance’s music video for their single, I Don’t Love You, directed by Marc Webb. In the second half of 2007, Haynes auditioned for the role of Edward Cullen in the film version of Stephenie Meyer’s young adult novel, Twilight. Robert Pattinson was cast instead.

Mainstream Success
Haynes earned a series regular role of Shane in the cable series Look and ABC’s short lived drama The Gates. Currently he plays Jackson Whittemore in MTV’s new supernatural series Teen Wolf airing every Monday 10/9c.
